Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our premium full-grain leather goods.

What is the difference between full-grain and genuine leather?

We exclusively use full-grain leather, which is the highest quality grade available. Unlike 'genuine' leather which is sanded down, full-grain retains the entire hide thickness and natural character, ensuring your bag lasts a lifetime and develops a beautiful patina.

How do I care for my Portland Leather products?

To keep your leather supple and protected, we recommend applying a high-quality leather conditioner every 3-6 months. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heavy water, and always spot test any cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area first.

What is your shipping policy for domestic orders?

Most orders are processed within 2-4 business days. We offer standard ground shipping across the United States, with expedited options available at checkout. You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as your order leaves our workshop.

What is your return and exchange policy?

We offer a 30-day return window for items in their original, unused condition. Please note that 'Almost Perfect' sale items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged due to their deeply discounted price.

Do you offer a warranty on your bags?

Yes, we stand by our craftsmanship. We offer a limited lifetime warranty covering any defects in materials or workmanship. This ensures that your investment is protected against structural failures under normal use.

Why does my bag have small scars or color variations?

Because we use authentic full-grain hides, natural markings such as range marks, insect bites, and fat wrinkles are common. These are not defects, but rather 'nature's signature' that proves the leather is real and unique.
